One of the true contemporaries to Four Tet, Dan Snaith, under his Caribou moniker, has made some of the most progressive Jazz, Disco, Rock, Electronica in recent memory, especially with his latest LP, Andorra. Now Snaith is more dance focused, looking to provide people with jams that are also incredibly melodic and inherently funky. “Pairs” is a single off of the new dance minded album, JIAOLONG.

Say what you will about Scuba’s non-musical activity, as he plays a pretty incendiary character in an otherwise egoless section of the music world. However, how can you hate on bangers like “Talk Torque”. I know it’s a radio rip, but damn. It combines house, techno, acid house and a little rave in the synths. Dope.

Haven’t posted in a minute. Music has been slow. I’m unwilling to part with dope tracks for my mixes and all I’ve been listening to is dance music. Anyways, here’s Gesaffelstein’s “Viol” with matching vid done by some Parisian bike riders. Info for the ivd is on youtube. Regardless, this is dope.

The absolute beatsmith, Four Tet, full name Kieran Hebden, can turn any track into sheer beauty regardless of the original. I’m not too sure who Ultrasia is, but her voice is killer as it floats over the remix of her song, “Smalltalk.”

The so-called psychedelic rock project, Tame Impala, is gearing up to release its second LP, Lonerism, this October. It’s great to see a band that can make an incredibly old genre, by today’s standards, seem like an absolute breath of fresh air. It’s stuff that’s so good it transcends today, tomorrow and yesterday.

Flying Lotus’s new album Until the Quiteus Comes is due October 2nd, however he was kind enough to drop off a little preview in the form of “Strut.” The video is flawless with neat production both visually and musically, representing growth for Fly Lo.

James Blake and Trim have teamed up before under the moniker of Harmonimix as the song has been around now since about January or so. Here they officially title themselves as Trimbal, with their new single “Confidence”. Song is legit and represents that Blake can still make dope records without sounding too weird as his last EP somewhat was.

Frank Ocean drops the visual treatment for “Pyramids” off of ChannelORANGE. Once again, Frank teams up with Nabil for the direction and as always it looks fantastic. Some special guests make an appearance too.

The mysterious Captain Murphy is at it once again with Flying Lotus handling production on the new track “Killing Joke”, link here. I have no idea who it is still, but regardless, the tracks are unreal and I’m eagerly awaiting the drop of Duality.
